Join Sara Hennessy, Professor of Educational Dialogue and Pedagogical Inquiry, Faculty of Education, and Rachel West, Senior Professional Development Manager, Cambridge University Press & Assessmentfac, for the first of a termly ‘Cambridge Conversations in Education’ dialogue.

The talk will focus on an ongoing collaboration in which professional learning resources based on research from the Cambridge Educational Dialogue Research (CEDiR) group at the Faculty of Education are piloted and adapted by a team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, in order to embed a dialogic ethos in teacher professional development.

A long tradition of research in the CEDiR group demonstrates that a dialogic approach supports learning. Educational dialogue involves participants sharing, exploring and critically engaging with others’ perspectives and reasons. The resources of which are being developed by the pioneering Camtree initiative at Hughes Hall, which promotes, supports and publishes practitioner research across diverse contexts globally.

The conversation will illustrate the process of translating academic research into practice through a very productive collaboration.

This marks the first of a series of exploratory dialogues between Cambridge University Press & Assessment (CUP&A) and the University of Cambridge academic staff, intended to strengthen a shared mission to advance knowledge and foster educational excellence.

These seminars are open to all students, post doc, and staff members.
