1-3 June online
UNESCO and UNFPA, on behalf of the Global Partnership Forum on Comprehensive Sexuality Education, will host this 3-day international virtual symposium. The event will bring together up to 500 young people, education professionals, academic experts, donors, adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) practitioners and advocates, government representatives, religious and traditional leaders, artists, and activists, alongside other stakeholders, to present the latest evidence, promote dialogue and identify directions for advancing effective and evidence-based approaches on education for health, well-being and positive values on sexuality.
The agenda will focus on different themes per day – day 1 on the social, cultural, and political environment for CSE, day 2 on participation and populations for CSE, and day 3 on the effective process and delivery of CSE – through 4 plenary sessions, 16 parallel sessions, 4 creative sessions and 2 ‘networking’ sessions to encourage informal exchange among participants. Up to 65 speakers will be invited from around the world, of which about 16 speakers would be selected through an open call for abstracts. Young people, i.e. those 25 years or younger will especially be encouraged to participate as well as invited to present.
