On 7 October 2021, the Yidan Prize Foundation, the University of Cambridge (the REAL Centre at the Faculty of Education, and the Intellectual Forum at Jesus College) and CAMFED (the Campaign for Female Education) are co-hosting a conference at Jesus College to spotlight the work of the Yidan Prize community towards creating an equitable future through education.
The event will have a strong focus on the global challenges facing education today, considering the inequalities exposed by the pandemic and the disruption exacerbated by climate change, which disproportionately affects women and girls. There will be a spotlight on the efforts and partnerships required to find solutions in reaching the most marginalised young people and in re-imagining quality education for all.
This free conference will bring together global policymakers, educationalists, business leaders, foundation heads, leading academics and activists. The Honourable Julia Gillard, Chair of the Global Partnership for Education, and Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands, Board Director of the Yidan Prize Foundation, are among the keynote speakers alongside Yidan Prize laureates.
The conference will be live streamed, as well as catering for an in-person audience at Jesus College, depending on the COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time.
