What would it take to ensure that all young people globally have opportunities to learn, to feel a sense of belonging, and to be prepared to help build more peaceful and equitable futures? Fifteen years of ethnographic research and more than 600 interviews in 23 countries with children experiencing conflict and seeking refuge raises new ways to think about persistent conceptual questions in global education, related to the purposes of education, forms of power over what and how children learn, and the mechanisms by which education acts on inequities.
