Climate justice is at the forefront of policy and research agendas across the world. As more is established around the nature and extent of the climate crisis, sometimes called a ‘super-wicked’ problem because of its complexity, a key concern is the dissemination of climate change related knowledge. This is increasingly a priority given the need to mainstream climate change.
This event aims to engage early career researchers, practitioners, and activists around their work on climate action research projects. It will highlight the experiences of those in the early stages of a climate action career by exploring their experiences in a range of participatory action research groups (PARGs). These groups involved both the co-creation of climate change knowledge between a range of actors as well as the publicising of this knowledge through novel multi-media and communication channels. The latter included the use of audio and visual media in the creation process, as well as the use of social media platforms in order to circulate knowledge and generate engagement around climate change in different national contexts.
The event presents an opportunity to highlight the lessons that can be learnt from the experiences of early career researchers, practitioners, and activists when conducting climate action research of this nature.
The event is open to all those with an interest in the issues under discussion. The event is free to attend, but registration on Eventbrite is required.
