How do practitioners, researchers, and activists get better at driving change in education? A power and systems approach

Drawing on the recently published second edition of his book, Duncan Green will be sharing lessons for education activists– not just in civil society, but in government, the education system and anywhere where people are trying to make the world a better place. He will touch on a bit of theory, but the focus of this seminar will be a practical one. Drawing on his 20 years with Oxfam, on numerous conversations with activists around the world, and the knowledge and ideas in the room, Duncan will share valuable insights on how we can get more intentional about effecting change. How do we move from a better understanding of the problem, to unpacking the power and stakeholders around a given issue, to coming up with a strategy with a decent chance of getting results?

Duncan will be signing copies of the new edition of his book after the seminar. If you want to buy a copy, please bring £10 in cash or make sure you have Paypal account details on hand. The book is free online, but then you’ll miss out on getting it signed.

Seminar jointly organised by the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre and the Politics of Education (POLED) student network at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
