Refugee youth increasingly live in protracted displacement, navigating their trajectories in deep states of uncertainty. This seminar draws on research with Syrian refugee youth in Jordan and the strategies they exercised outside of schools to manage their daily lives and maintain a sense of hope. Building on these findings, the seminar discusses the role of hope in refugee education and the importance of educational practices which respond to young people’s needs in uncertainty.

All REAL Centre seminars are in-person events with the option to join online.
