Join this REAL Centre seminar in person at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, or online, to hear from invited speaker:
Emma Wagner, Senior Education Policy and Advocacy Adviser, Save the Children, and Co-Chair, Send My Friend To School Campaign
This seminar presents the different influencing tactics the Send My Friend to School Coalition uses to engage UK parliamentarians and policymakers to ensure the UK Government prioritises education within its international development strategy.
In 2025, the Coalition celebrates its 25th Anniversary and it will be reflecting on its successes and challenges related to various campaign themes over the years, including girls’ education, attacks on schools, teachers, education in emergencies and inclusive education. The seminar will show how the Coalition works with thousands of UK schools, what the successes and challenges have been in achieving policy and funding ‘wins’ and how the approach continues to evolve. The new two-year campaign will begin in March 2025, with a focus on increasing UK funding to education – get a sneak peak of the key milestones and policy recommendations ahead of the launch.
